Short News Snippets From Around The World

USA Dominance. Team USA claimed its fifth consecutive Walker Cup with a dominant 17–9 win over Great Britain & Ireland at Cypress Point. After leading narrowly into Sunday, the U.S. stormed through the singles, winning 8.5 of 10 points. Veteran Stewart Hagestad secured the clinching point before Preston Stout sealed the outright victory.

PIF x PGA. The PGA Tour has rejected Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) proposal to invest $1.5 billion in PGA Tour Enterprises. PIF wanted LIV Golf to continue and for governor Yasir al-Rumayyan to be co-chairman, but both conditions were deemed unacceptable. Despite 70% of fans favouring reunification, the Tour feels confident in its commercial strength and is prioritising its own product. Talks remain stalled, with player contract renewals the next major test for LIV.

Listen To Butch. Butch Harmon urges a strict two-shot penalty to stop slow play, saying fines won’t deter millionaire pros. On his son’s podcast, he cited Patrick Cantlay’s lengthy routine and recalled a Hogan anecdote. Harmon argues two shots would force speed, as penalties could cost cuts, wins or Ryder Cup spots. Now

Noran In. Joining Francesco and Edoardo Molinari, Thomas Bjørn, and José María Olazábal, Noren brings experience from 2018 and close ties with Scandinavian teammates Viktor Hovland, Ludvig Åberg, and Rasmus Højgaard. Captain Luke Donald praised his humility and familiarity.
