Withdraw. Sepp Straka, ranked No. 10 in the world and fifth in FedEx Cup points, withdrew from the BMW Championship for personal reasons. Despite missing the event and potential bonus earnings, he is guaranteed a spot at the Tour Championship.
History Maker. Sebastián Muñoz made LIV Golf history at Indianapolis by carding a 59 despite a double bogey, the first-ever such round. He birdied 13 of his last 14 holes, including eight in a row and five straight to finish. He then went on to shoot a 29 on his front 9 on day two 🤯🤯. Muñoz went on to win the event on -22.
18 Mil 🙈🙈. Jon Rahm fired a career-best 11-under 60 at LIV Golf Indianapolis to edge Joaquin Niemann and secure his second straight LIV Golf Individual Championship. Despite losing the playoff to Sebastián Muñoz, Rahm’s consistency earned him the season title and $18 million. Muñoz won the tournament and $4 million with his playoff birdie.
Capitalized. Marco Penge claimed his second DP World Tour title at the Danish Golf Championship after capitalising on Rasmus Højgaard’s late collapse. Penge, who began four shots back, held his nerve with a clutch birdie on the final hole to win at 16 under. The victory also secured him the Closing Swing Rankings title.
Axed. Six players were relegated from LIV Golf at the end of the 2025 season. Henrik Stenson (Majesticks), Andy Ogletree (HyFlyers), Mito Pereira (Torque), Yubin Jang (Iron Heads), Anthony Kim (Wildcard), and Frederik Kjettrup (Cleeks) all fell into the Drop Zone and lost their spots, needing LIV Promotions or Asian Tour success to return.
Locked In. Six players have secured their spots on the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup team after the BMW Championship. Scottie Scheffler, World No.1 and FedExCup leader, returns for his third Ryder Cup. He is joined by U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Bryson DeChambeau, and Harris English. Captain Keegan Bradley will complete the roster after the TOUR Championship.
