Short News Snippets From Around The World

Creator Classic. The 2025 Creator Classic Series finale at East Lake, Aug. 20, features top golf content creators competing for a $100,000 prize in an eight-hole playoff format. Streaming across multiple platforms, the event includes fan activations, YouTube Creator Collective meetup, and premium broadcast production showcasing golf’s blend of tradition and modern storytelling.
New World #1. Jeeno Thitikul has reclaimed the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 spot for the first time since 2022, surpassing Nelly Korda. The Thai star, with eight top-10 finishes in 2025, leads multiple season standings and boasts five LPGA wins, including the 2025 Mizuho Americas Open.
No DNA, Just RSA. Aldrich Potgieter, 20, is the PGA Tour’s longest driver, averaging 327.6 yards, surpassing Rory McIlroy. He was the only Rookie to make it through to the playoffs this past week. He won the Rocket Classic and is the youngest PGA Tour winner from South Africa. He unfortunately finished 52nd, just missing out on the BMW Championship this week.
Will He Ever Win? Tommy Fleetwood once again fell short of his first PGA TOUR victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Leading late with a two-shot advantage, errors on the 16th and 17th holes cost him dearly. Despite six runner-up finishes and a strong 2025 season, Fleetwood’s elusive maiden PGA TOUR win remains a poignant story.
Tag Me In. Scottie Scheffler used fill-in caddie Brad Payne for the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship after his usual caddie, Ted Scott, had to leave for a family matter. Payne, who has previously filled in for Scheffler and is a longtime friend and mentor, helped carry his bag at TPC Southwind.
