Another Major week gone, and Pádraig Harrington claims his second Major title of the year. This week sees the Ladies Open take place in Wales, the weather looks to be ok with only a few shower here and there.
Happy Gilmore 2 launched on Friday, and if you haven’t seen it, I suggest you get some popcorn and get busy. Is it the best movie ever? No. Was it cringy, funny, filled with cameos? Yes! I loved it, I’d like to hear what you think.
This week’s sponsors - Golf Stats. The Coach’s platform has now launched. This is actually a little project I have been building myself. I have always struggled with the Stat Tracking Apps, as they are clunky and a mission to use. I have decided to build my own. Golf Stats is Simple, Clean and Effective. It is still in the early stages, so lots to tweak. I’d love to hear your feedback Click here to try it out.

Short News Snippets From Around The World

Pick Yourself. Team Europe captain Luke Donald agreed to a Ryder Cup rules change allowing a U.S. vice-captain to advise players if captain Keegan Bradley competes. Bradley’s stellar 2025 form may earn him a playing spot. The last U.S. playing captain was Arnold Palmer in 1963. Ryder Cup returns September 2026.
The Perfect Split. Joaquín Niemann revealed he split with long-time coach Eduardo Miquel and caddie Gary Matthews after recent frustration, including missed major cuts. Despite leading LIV Golf UK and earning six wins in 2025, he felt change was necessary. Close friend Diego Salinas is now caddying as Niemann eyes continued success on LIV. It obviously worked as he picked up the win this weekend on the LIV Tour.
Rapid Rounds. The PGA Tour has launched “Rapid Rounds,” a new feature offering quick recaps of full player rounds. Debuting at the 3M Open, fans can now watch every shot from select players after each round via CBS, ESPN, Golf Channel, and NBC. It’s part of the Tour’s Fan Forward initiative.
“According to the Mirror”. Dustin Johnson, struggling on the LIV Golf circuit with another last-place finish at LIV UK, has confirmed he plans to retire in six years. Despite recent poor form, including missed major cuts, Johnson remains optimistic, stating he's still got what it takes and hopes to end his career on his terms.
