Wow, I have missed writing these, I took a little bit of a break during my overseas trip. I actually felt like I lost touch with the golfing world from not sending this newsletter out every week. Anyway, I am back now, and the latest news will keep on coming.

This last week saw the first edition of the Creator Classic. I think this is a really cool initiative and could become quite a big event.

Scottie Scheffler walked away with some serious cash this weekend. Taking his yearly total to just over $60million 🤯🤯. My personal opinion on the Tour Championship format is that it is a load of s*#t. Scottie has been winning all year on tour, now you start him at -10, what do you expect? The guys that are 30th have no chance. Anyways, what do I actually know?

Scottie’s Payback. A Louisville Metro Police officer, Javar Downs, was charged with theft and misconduct after failing to turn on his body camera during PGA golfer Scottie Scheffler's arrest. Downs faces an internal investigation, and his employment is likely to be terminated. The charges stem from a civilian complaint following another arrest.

Hideki’s Injury. Hideki Matsuyama played the Tour Championship with a back and neck injury, he managed to finish T9 on -16, it obviously can’t be that bad 😂. Let's hope he is ok for the Presidents Cup.

$1million. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is considering hosting a $1 million golf tournament for content creators, emphasizing entertainment over skill. This idea follows the Creator Classic, featuring popular YouTube golfers, which will be broadcast on ESPN+ and PGA Tour channels. The PGA Tour is increasingly embracing social media influencers to attract a new audience as traditional viewership declines.

Creator Classic. Talking about the Creator Classic, Luke Kwon won 🤔 the PGA Tour's inaugural Creator Classic at East Lake by sinking a 12-foot birdie in a playoff. The event featured 16 popular golf influencers playing eight holes, with the top four advancing to the playoff. Wesley Bryan, Sean Walsh, and Roger Steele also made the playoff. I think this could turn into quite a cool event.

Unhappy Rory. Rory McIlroy expressed frustration over the slow progress of the PGA Tour's negotiations with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, warning that LIV Golf's backers might explore other options if a deal isn't reached soon. He emphasized the need for a resolution to unify the sport and improve the overall product.
