A bit of a quiet week in the golfing world. Nothing too crazy happened, other than Frank Bensel Jr. making back-to-back hole in ones🤯.
Nelly Korda finds herself in the news again, but unfortunately for the wrong reasons. The Dutch Olympic Committee implemented some harsh rules, and one of LIV’s partners filed for bankruptcy.

NEWS
Short News Snippets From Around The World
A Bit Harsh. Dutch golfers Dewi Weber, Darius van Driel, and Joost Luiten were denied Olympic participation by their own country, despite meeting international qualifications. The Netherlands' stricter criteria demand a realistic top-eight finish chance, which the federation claims the golfers do not meet. This decision has caused significant frustration among the athletes.
Caffeine Hit. LIV Golf's streaming partner, Caffeine TV, shut down, leaving the Saudi-backed tour without a paid streaming service for its remaining six events. Despite continued cable and online streaming availability, the loss disrupts LIV Golf's plans to attract a younger, more diverse audience and generate revenue.
Dog Troubles. Nelly Korda withdrew from the Ladies European Tour tournament in London after being bitten by a dog in Seattle. The world No. 1 announced her need for treatment and recovery on Instagram. Korda has faced a series of poor performances recently, failing to make the cut in her last three tournaments.
Will Withdraws. Will Zalatoris withdrew from the Rocket Mortgage Classic during the third round due to hip discomfort. Zalatoris, 3-over through eight holes, felt something pop in his hip, unrelated to his previous back surgery. His manager emphasized the need for rest. Zalatoris, returning from a 2023 microdiscectomy, has three top-10 finishes in 2024.
Back to Back ♠️. Club pro Frank Bensel Jr. made back-to-back holes-in-one during the US Senior Open's second round, an event with odds of 67 million to one. He aced the 184-yard fourth and 203-yard fifth holes at Newport Country Club. Despite this feat, Bensel shot a 74, including four straight bogeys. I would have headed straight to the bar. 😂

Left or Right?
I think Cam Davis can swing it better left-handed than most of us 😂😂
Whenever Cam Davis is in contention, I’m reminded of the fact that he has a better left-handed swing than most *actual* lefties like myself. I think I hate him.
