The Major weeks just keep rolling in. Amy Yang picked up here first Major at the PGA Championship, also securing her spot at the Olympics, what a week for her. The Senior US Open also kicks off this week, it should be a great watch.
Tiger Woods gets some special treatment, there was a rule change, and Cam Young shoots a 59. He only hit 6 fairways, I guess the saying ‘Drive for show, putt for dough’ is correct.
Scottie Scheffler just keeps on smashing it, I guess the extra dad duties haven’t affected him that much. He beat Tom Kim in a playoff, quite rude I must say as it was Tom’s birthday this week 😂😂

NEWS
Short News Snippets From Around The World
Tiger’s Free Pass. The PGA Tour Policy Board approved a special exemption for Tiger Woods, allowing him to compete in the tour’s eight signature events due to his "exceptional lifetime achievement." This bypasses the need for sponsor's exemptions. Additionally, all 2025 signature events will feature a 72-player minimum field with an alternate list.
Rules Change. The PGA Tour amended the rule on "When a Scorecard is Returned," introducing a 15-minute buffer for correcting errors after leaving the scoring area. This change addresses a long-standing issue, providing players extra time to rectify mistakes without penalties. The new rule applies to multiple tours, including PGA Tour, Champions, and Korn Ferry. What other rules do you think they should change?
US Open Was A Hit. The 2024 U.S. Open's final round, featuring Bryson DeChambeau's victory over Rory McIlroy, delivered strong TV ratings. NBC reported a 2.8 rating and 5.9 million viewers, the highest for an East Coast final round since 2013. Peak viewership reached 11.4 million, with the event becoming NBC's most-streamed golf event, up 17% from 2023. I must say it was a great event!
Bold Statement. Wyndham Clark, set to compete in the Olympics, claims the event is a bigger deal than the Ryder Cup. Clark, who will represent the U.S. alongside Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, and Collin Morikawa, views the Olympics as a higher honor due to its global representation. I do get where he is coming from, the Olympics is a special event, however nothing beats the Ryder Cup.
Crazy Stat. Since joining LIV and being banned by the PGA Tour, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have more PGA Tour sanctioned wins than Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler combined. How’s that for a kick in the butt.
59 Blows. Cameron Young shot a historic 59 during the third round of the Travelers Championship, carding two eagles and seven birdies in a bogey-free round. This marks just the 13th sub-60 round in PGA Tour history and the first since 2020. Young's performance moved him to 13 under for the tournament. He started his 4th round with 4 straight birdies, but the hot streak eventually stopped with him carding a 66, to finish in T9.

Protesters On The 18th.
Climate protesters disrupted the final round of the Travelers Championship, running onto the 18th green and leaving a powdery substance, delaying play for several minutes. Six demonstrators were quickly removed by police, allowing leaders Tom Kim and Scottie Scheffler to finish. Scheffler won after a playoff. Extinction Rebellion claimed responsibility.
