There still seems to be some beef between the PGA Tour/DP World Tour and LIV. I just can’t wait for all of this to be finished. Like I said before, I just want the best players in the world competing against each other.

Next week is the PGA Championship, again hardly any LIV Players are playing, it just puts a dampener on the whole event. However, I will be running a Golf Champs competition, with a hamper going to the top spot. Stay tuned for that next week.

Grab that coffee, and let’s go. 🏌️‍♀️⛳☕

Short News Snippets From Around The World

Recover Well Ian. Tommy Fleetwood's caddie, Ian Finnis, underwent open-heart surgery after missing several events due to health issues. Finnis, Fleetwood's longtime friend and caddie since 2016, had a rumored heart infection, prompting his absence. Fleetwood expressed hope for Finnis's swift recovery, as he temporarily uses replacements for tournament caddying.

Young Guns. Sixteen-year-old amateur Kris Kim impressed in his PGA Tour debut, finishing the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in solo 65th place. Kim, the youngest to make a PGA Tour cut since Jordan Spieth in 2010, showcased his talent with rounds of 68-67-70-73. I was still trying to break 90 when I was 16. These kids are incredible!

Tigers Back. Tiger Woods is granted a special exemption to compete in the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst, confirming anticipated news. Woods expresses gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing the significance of the event in his career. The exemption marks the first time he's not automatically qualified since his debut in 1995.

Gooch Out. Despite several LIV Golf League players aiming for U.S. Open qualification, Talor Gooch, the league's top player in 2023, opts out without providing a reason. While others like Graeme McDowell and Jason Kokrak commit to qualifying attempts, Gooch, alongside Brooks Koepka, remains notably absent from the lineup. I guess that is going to put an asterisks on the eventual winner.

Going Back To His Roots. After a split since the 2023 Ryder Cup, Collin Morikawa reunites with childhood coach Rick Sessinghaus. Despite a brief stint with Mark Blackburn, Morikawa, with five PGA Tour wins, including two Majors under Sessinghaus, aims to rekindle his success ahead of the PGA Championship, signaling a return to familiar territory.

This Could Be Quite Cool. LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman plans to emulate the PGA Tour's TPC model by having the league and its teams purchase golf courses globally. Norman envisions each team having a home venue for hosting events, integrating education, hospitality, and real estate. The league aims for global expansion, with plans to bring events to new countries.
