It was nice to see some different names on top of the leaderboard this week. Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry threw back the years to claim the Zurich Classic, they have been competing together since they were juniors. And Hannah Green goes back to back on the LPGA Tour.

And lets admit it, the ISPS Handa Championship has the coolest trophy in world golf, its a Samurai helmet!

Ripper GC took Stinger GC out in a playoff, I would have looked the South Africans to take out the Aussies on home soil, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Let’s dive in. 🏌️‍♀️⛳☕

Charlie Falls Short. Charlie Woods' first attempt to qualify for the 2024 U.S. Open fell short as he shot a nine-over 81 at a local qualifier in Florida. His round included three double bogeys, four bogeys, and one birdie, leaving him T61 out of 74 players. This marks his second unsuccessful attempt at qualifying for a major event.

11 Birdies & 1 Eagle. Frankie Capan III achieved history by carding a 13-under 58 on the Korn Ferry Tour, tying the lowest under-par round ever. The Minnesota native, competing at the Veritex Bank Championship in Texas, broke the course record. Capan's stellar performance included seven consecutive birdies on the back nine. I have mates who shoot this in 9 holes. Insane!

Rory Wants Back In. Rory McIlroy is considering returning to the PGA Tour Policy Board due to perceived lack of progress in negotiations to reunite the sport. McIlroy, who resigned from the board in November, believes he could aid in resolving the impasse. However, he emphasizes his involvement depends on others' willingness.

More Than Just A Great Player. Tommy Fleetwood caddied for his stepson, Oscar Craig, in his Challenge Tour debut at Abu Dhabi. The 17-year-old impressed with a 3-under 69, finishing T13. Fleetwood, married to Oscar's mother Clare Craig, provided support, highlighting the special bond shared between family members on the golf course.

First Time. The Australian LIV Golf team Ripper GC clinched a thrilling victory in Adelaide, winning a dramatic teams event after a playoff with South African outfit Stinger GC, this was the first time there as ever been a team playoff in a LIV event. Cam Smith and Marc Leishman's crucial putts sealed the win, delighting the pro-Australian crowd. American Brendan Steele claimed the individual title in the intense tournament.

Aussie Aussie Aussie. LIV Golf broke its attendance record in Adelaide, with over 94,000 fans flocking to the Grange Golf Club. More than 40% came from out of state, representing 30 countries. Commissioner Greg Norman hailed Australia's enthusiastic embrace of the event. It Certainly looks like a good event to go to. The one thing I think is a bit weird is the players almost being forced into doing shoey’s.

Mastering the Draw Shot

Mastering the draw shot in golf will help you increase clubhead speed, hit the ball further and create more consistency. Ultimately lowering your scores.

Creating a V-shape with your thumb and index finger and having them point towards your right shoulder is key, as well as gripping the club in your fingers. You will need your feet, hips and shoulders either parallel to the target or slightly closed to create a draw shape.

Common mistakes, like a weak grip or an outside-in swing path, will cause you to hit a slice. Troubleshooting issues like loss of balance and inconsistent contact requires attention to weight distribution and maintaining a smooth swing tempo.

In conclusion, mastering the draw shot offers strategic advantages, providing control, increased distance, and confidence on challenging courses. Attention to grip, stance, swing path, and body mechanics, coupled with consistent practice, empowers you to effectively incorporate the draw into your game.
