The TaylorMade Qi10 driver seems to be dominating this season, the pros seem to be winning with it left, right and centre. I will be doing a review on this in next week’s video. Some interesting golf ball news this week, and LIV have still not provided clear cut info for this season's schedule etc.

Enough chit chat,

Let’s go 🏌️‍♀️⛳☕

Short News Snippets From Around The World

The Return of Maxfli. Lexi Thompson, an 11-time LPGA winner, has signed an endorsement deal with Maxfli for the 2024 season, becoming the face of the brand. Thompson will play the Maxfli Tour ball and participate in marketing campaigns. She expressed excitement about the ball's performance, enhancing her speed without compromising control. Thompson, starting her 13th LPGA season, seeks a successful year with the Olympics and Solheim Cup ahead.

More Players to LIV? Adrian Meronk, withdrawing from the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open, is set to join LIV Golf, marking a move away from the PGA Tour just ahead of LIV Golf's 2024 season opener in Mexico. The report suggests Meronk will join the Cleeks, captained by Martin Kaymer. LIV Golf is also reportedly pursuing England's Tyrrell Hatton. I find this crazy as LIV has provided very little info about this season.

Young Guns on the Charge. Nineteen-year-old Aldrich Potgieter, originally from Mossel Bay, South Africa, became the youngest winner in Korn Ferry Tour history, shooting a final-round 65 to finish 10 under for The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic. Potgieter turned professional at 18 and expressed a desire to gain experience on the tour, opting for the professional route over college.

Rory Joins Arnie. Rory McIlroy is awarded the 2024 Arnie Award, Golf Digest's recognition for golfers who give back, joining the ranks of Arnold Palmer. McIlroy, often compared to Palmer for his innate ability to connect with people and contribute to the sport, stands out as a generous figure, both on and off the course.

Dunlap Turns Pro. Nick Dunlap, the recent historic winner of The American Express as an amateur, has officially turned professional. The 20-year-old, who decided after much contemplation, will make his pro debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Dunlap's Amex victory grants him exemptions and significant opportunities on the PGA Tour.

Wonderkid Returns. After a 12-year hiatus from the PGA Tour, Anthony Kim, the enigmatic golf star, is reportedly negotiating a return. LIV Golf, initially uninterested, has extended a one-year contract covering a $10 million insurance policy, allowing Kim to earn prize money and sponsorships. Kim, once ranked No. 6 globally, aims for a spring comeback.

STATS
How Often Do Players Three Putt?

Please note the data below is across all situations. These numbers will be impacted by many things including stimp of green, smoothness of green, difficulty level of putt, etc…

While three putt percent is “sort of useful”, you really should be using strokes gained to understand how well you are (or are not) putting!

Even though there are factors that impact these numbers, this chart is a great baseline. It should help you set reasonable expectations. It's also a great guideline for practice putting games.
