Amateur Claims Victory. In a historic triumph, amateur Nick Dunlap, the reigning US Amateur champion and a 20-year-old sophomore at the University of Alabama, secured victory at the American Express tournament, becoming the first amateur since 1991 to win a PGA Tour title. Despite setting a record low winning score, Dunlap, ineligible for prize money as an amateur, saw runner-up Christiaan Bezuidenhout claim the $1.51 million prize. Dunlap's win marks the youngest amateur victory on the PGA Tour since 1910.

Herbert to LIV? Lucas Herbert has reportedly joined Cameron Smith's Ripper GC in LIV Golf, completing an all-Australian lineup. The move ensures the team's continuity, adding Herbert's experience with victories in PGA and DP World Tour events. If confirmed, Herbert's addition is expected to strengthen the team's performance in the upcoming LIV Golf season. The reported signing follows uncertainties around Matt Jones, ultimately retained, and the departure of Jediah Morgan from the team. Wyndham Clark is another player that is rumored to go to LIV Golf. Could we see more big names jump over?

Saying Goodbye to a Legend. Bernhard Langer, the two-time Masters champion, has declared that the 2024 Masters will be his final appearance at Augusta National. Langer, 66, disclosed his decision ahead of the PGA Tour Champions season kick-off in Hawaii. With over 60 global titles and 41 Masters starts, Langer made history in 2020 as the oldest player to make the Masters cut at age 63. Despite acknowledging the challenge of competing against younger players, he expressed excitement about the upcoming tournament in April.

Simpson Speaks Out. Webb Simpson discusses the impact of LIV Golf on the sport, emphasizing the shift in priorities among young players, focusing more on financial gains than legacy, major championships, and contending on the PGA Tour. Simpson points out Dustin Johnson's move to LIV as an example, expressing concern that the new format may diminish players' historical significance.

DP World Tour Player of the Year. Adrian Meronk, the first Polish golfer to receive the Seve Ballesteros Award, was named Player of the Year by DP World Tour members. Meronk's historic achievements in 2023 include winning three times and finishing fourth on the Race to Dubai Rankings. He expressed surprise and gratitude, emphasizing the significance of the accolade presented by Seve Ballesteros's son Javier.

Tiger + TaylorMade. Tiger Woods, parting ways with Nike after 27 years, is set to revive his iconic "Sunday Red" apparel through a reported partnership with TaylorMade. The trademark application by TaylorMade suggests the return of the signature red shirt Woods made famous. The journey of "Sunday Red" began in 2005, and TaylorMade recently refiled for the trademark. Woods' move away from Nike fuels anticipation for a major announcement at Riviera, with TaylorMade venturing into golf apparel.
