Two big events took place this week in terms of being the ‘party’ events - The Las Vegas Championship and the WM Phoenix Open. It is safe to say both of them did not disappoint. Well maybe the WM did, fans took it to a whole new level this year.

It is always great having an event in your home town, this week saw the Sunshine Tour and Challenge Tour host the Cape Town Open at Royal Cape Golf Course. The one thing I always realize when watching golf live is that the players aren’t too different from us. They also miss fairways and putts. It makes you feel a bit better about your game.

Let’s go 🏌️‍♀️⛳☕

Tiger Teases. Today Tiger Woods is going to be making a huge announcement ahead of his PGA Tour comeback, following the end of his 27-year partnership with Nike Golf. Speculations suggest a deal with TaylorMade, possibly unveiling an apparel line called 'Sunday Red'. Woods, who used Nike clubs, is expected to switch to TaylorMade for both equipment and clothing.

Are People Actually Watching LIV. We compare TV ratings between LIV Golf's Mayakoba event and the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, affected by a weather-induced final-round washout two weeks ago. CBS's coverage garnered 1.951 million viewers on Saturday, while LIV Golf drew 168,000 viewers on Saturday and 432,000 viewers on Sunday via The CW Network.

Prison Time. Amid the PGA Tour, LIV Golf, and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund controversy, advisers could face 20-year Saudi prison terms if they comply with a US investigation. Bloomberg reports threats of imprisonment for cooperating. Senate hearings revealed reluctance among advisers to comply fully. The PIF expressed commitment to cooperate within Saudi law. This is all getting a bit crazy. I just want the best players in the world playing against each other.

57! Are You Kidding Me? Chilean golfer Cristobal Del Solar made headlines by shooting a record-breaking 57 in a Korn Ferry Tour event. His remarkable round included two eagles and set a new low score record for a PGA Tour-sanctioned event. Del Solar led by five strokes after day one, marking an impressive start to the tournament.

Golf Event or Festival? Is the WM Phoenix Open becoming too much? On Saturday entry to the WM Phoenix Open was halted due to large crowds, leading to grievances on social media. Wet weather and soggy conditions exacerbated the situation, prompting organizers to close entrances, pause alcohol sales, and stop shuttle services. Fans expressed frustration over ticket scanning, lack of amenities, and overcrowding. Videos on Social Media of guys fitting, drinking, passing out, sprinting to the 16th hole have been circulating. I think it has gone too far.
